Skills Training Program(ILP) 2014

TheMIND in collaboration with VIVEKKAM, PIBG & Alumni of SRK(T) Tasek Permai, Penang has conducted the 8th Skill Training Program at SRK(T) Tasek Permai, Simpat Ampat, Penang on 5th April 2014 (Saturday). This half day program was specially tailored to encourage the enrolment of the local Indian students with poor achievement in SPM into public skill training centers mainly ‘Institut Latihan Perindustrin’ (ILP).

Approximately 60 over SPM leavers, current SPM students and their respective parents were attended this event and we have managed to registered 30 SPM leavers via online for various programs that offered by institutes under the ‘Jabatan Tenaga Manusia’, Ministry of Human Resources. The program has started with a welcoming speech by Mr. Asaithamby Ramaiyah, the member of TheMIND and VIVEKKAM and proceed with an introductory talk by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rajesh Ramasamy, director of Skill Training Program’14, TheMIND. The invited speaker, Mr Yogamurugan Arumugam, lecturer from ILP Arumugam Pillai Nibong Tebal delivered his speech pertaining to the required information on industrial skill based courses offered by JTM’s institutes, facilities available and the prospects of ILP graduates in future. This session was further embedded with experience sharing with Mr. Parthiban, a current ILP student who pursues a IT course in ILP Perai. Interactive Q&A session and one-to-one counselling session were conducted to assist the SPM leavers to select the appropriates courses based on their academic achievement and personal interest. Upon counselling, participants were instantly registered for the intended course via online and those who had already registered, their courses were amended according to their results and needs. Students with various academic achievements were registered accordingly for the courses offered by ILP, ADTEC, IKBN, Kolej Komuniti and Polytechnics.
